Neon vs LED

Why quick-fix LED isn’t always the brightest idea.

Havana is one of the last working neon signs in Stavanger. My goal is to help bring more of these luminous landmarks back into the cityscape.

I offer consulting services in architectural lighting with a focus on long-lasting and sustainable solutions. In a time when cheaply produced LED products flood the market, often with short lifespans and poor recyclability, I help clients make better choices.

With a background in lighting design and a deep interest in the aesthetics and craftsmanship of classic neon signage, I’m particularly drawn to lighting strategies for historical buildings and facades. Properly built and maintained neon is not only visually striking but can also last for decades.

Whether you're considering the lighting of a heritage-listed building, looking to revive an old shopfront or exploring timeless light expressions for a new project, I can contribute from concept development to implementation. My goal is to combine quality, identity and environmental responsibility, and to help ensure the light we add today will still shine tomorrow.
